THE FRENCH REMNANT SHIRT
Explore

created from vintage French Workwear.

A growing selection of shirts developed from the deconstruction of iconic French blue garments with all the charm of darned patches, sun faded fabric and threadbare pockets. Every one completely unique.

…one of her favourite labels is Emily Settle, a local who designs and makes beautiful crafted linen shirts that, like many of the staples of “Cornish” style, transcends trends.

...inspired by one I stole from my Dad, a shirt my brothers would wear and one that I’d always want to take with me.
— Settle

Founded in 2020 settle came out of a growing desire to use what remains, ‘remnant’ meaning ‘what’s left over’. All garments are made in a response to available materials, natural fibres and unique design. The shirt is our first and favourite piece of uniform, all are made by Emily Settle in Cornwall.
